Living a ‘Fitnah’

I always thought about the Arabic word ‘Fitnah‘ and what God meant by it in different divine contexts. Most of the time my thoughts would be driven towards the Antichrist Fitnah, and how it would be so severe that people would easily fall for it. As a matter of fact, whenever this specific Fitnah is mentioned, we do not ask God to guide us to the right path, but instead, we pray that we wouldn’t be those people witnessing it.

I did not understand why or how could justice be so fragile in the hands of man. Or how difficult it would be to follow the right path, or even identify it. Nowadays, we are given a minor example of how burdening it is to be living in the middle of an ongoing Fitnah, where no one knows for sure which path is the righteous one, or on whose side lies justice.

What’s saddening is that it is not merely as we suppose. Our leaders know almost every detail about what’s going on, and how deadly things can be, yet the least of their attention is not drawn. Hundreds of human lives are claimed in the process, and are dealt with as a game of chess.

What kind of wicked spell takes over those in power?

  1. I think that the wicked spell is power itself, it goes to peoples heads, they like to control others, this could be from a person that has been promoted at work that gets that power rush or it could be the leader of a country.

What do these leaders do, or rather what are they supposed to do? What they DO do in my opinion is argue with other politicians whose views on doing the right things are often the polar opposite of what is being done. And also like to keep the masses suppressed so that they gain more power.

At some point in the distant past this method of doing things, ie a leader that is supposed to lead the people came to being and whilst it may of worked (or not) in the past, the human race has allowed it to continue.

At what point in your life, my life or the lives of people that you know have you been significantly better off due to something your government did?

  2. It often looks like, feels like civilization is crumbling around our feet, leaving everything covered in a choking cloud of dust. You must feel this way a thousand times more where you are. Peace be with you and your family.

  3. Helen already mentioned the corruption of power. Many times a person will rise to power simply to have the power and not to help. Those are the ones that cause stuff like this. If a person is leading to help others then the people never really notice them because they are happy and content.
